My father and I watched Booknotes religiously. Toward the end of his life Booknotes was one of the things we looked forward to. He was diabetic and passed away in 1998. In the spirit of his love for reading, I started an online audio service for the visually impaired called Assistive Media at www.assistivemedia.org.

This web audio service contains mostly non-fiction magazine articles, and I have modeled it after the topics and authors I see on Booknotes and BookTV. Simply put, Assistive Media is a pursuit of happiness through the love of reading and passing it on to people with visual disabilites.
