Role of the Solicitor General

U.S. Solicitor General Paul Clement spoke about the role of the Solicitor General's office at the Federal Circuit Judicial Conference. He's introduced by Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts. Clement announced his resignation as solicitor general, he will step down on June 2.

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco heard oral arguments in Ibrahim v. Homeland Security. The Court must decide the constitutionality of the no-fly list. In 2005 Stanford University student Rahinah Ibrahim was handcuffed and detained at the San Francisco International Airport while trying to fly home to Malaysia. After arriving in Malaysia, the U.S. Embassy revoked her visa, and she has not been allowed in the United States since.
